Games Nights 2001

It was with a certain innocence that we made those first tentative forays into the world of LAN gaming. Geoff was only a boy then and Danny, a mere pubescent teenager with a lisp and a penchant for Kleenex. Damien had just sprouted his first pubic hair and was strongly advised that he perhaps oughtn't be going around proclaiming his vast experience/ability at fellatio until he used the proper word, cunnilingus instead. Never mind Damo, we knew what you meant...

But all this is just fluff and preamble. The point is WE WERE THERE and yet, call me a piss-head, but I can't seem to remember when that first fateful evening occurred, or what happened, if anything, of note afterwards. Or during. So if any of you chaps are of the obsessive note-taking persuasion, then maybe you could point out any glaring errata in my account of events [both real and imaginary] and I will amend these records accordingly.

As for now, here's what I can remember. I have tried to honour all guests and visitors with a mention and an anecdote or two.

First games night - some time in the Summer of 2001...
Line up: Andy, Angela, Geoff, Danny, Damien
Noteworthy events: erm, general sense of amnesia but everybody has a jolly smashing time, right-on!

Second games night, some time in the Summer of 2001...
Line up: er, Andy, Ange, Damien, Geoff, Layla, Danny, Corrin
Noteworthy events: Layla comes and falls asleep in chair

Games Nights - 2002

Games Played: Unreal Tournament, Soldier of Fortune
Noteworthy Events: Damien keeps killing everybody, much to his delight; Raoul first time - plays loud music and smokes Andy's monitor [just kidding]; Damo gets a bit pissed; in fact, so do we all

Games Played: Soldier of Fortune; Aliens vs Predator II
Noteworthy Events: Andy holds his own [nothing new there]; Nick introduces AvPII; Nick keeps killing everybody as a face hugger [Freudian stuff happening there I think]; Danny has probs with graphics card; Andrew F and Erica visit; Wade visits; Damien gets drunk and laughs a lot; people get drunk and laugh a lot at Damien laughing a lot

Games Played: SoF; MoHAA; Red Faction; Red Alert; Red Underwear
Noteworthy Events: Damien blows his stack big time over hardware probs; Wade's first time - pisses pants with excitement; Active Danny visits - pisses pants with excitement; Damien downloads Andy's MP3 collection; Damien loses Andy's MP3 collection; Danny spends long time in the bathroom...; Geoff introduces MoHAA - to everyone's delight [except Danny with crap card];  Andy introduces Red Faction [thanks Damien] - too fast and we're all a bit too tired; Geoff introduces Red Alert: crap multiplay - non existent actually. Looks good solo tho'; Damien uses the C-word rather a lot; some dude wanders up and scrounges a lift home; Damien locks keys in [mum's] car requiring a bit of bending

Noteworthy Events: Had to get another table in to seat everybody; bit of a military theme this one, uniforms and camo gear; Katrina made us some very nice pizzas and cakes, yummy; Geoff's computer still kept locking up, although this could have just been a ruse 'cos he wasn't getting many points; Danny got plastered, and not just in face paint; Damo said the C-word rather a lot; Ange went to bed again but managed a second attack after coming back much refreshed; Danny and Raoul crashed on the sofas after expending mucho energy throughout the evening...
